    Gulp!

Today is the day that the website is published. If you've made it here, it's by chance so far. Still a little hush-hush at this point.

    What's Your Story?

    February 3, 2015

    Everyone has a story.

Often that story can be told or seen through our photos, but should it?

My hair is turning pretty gray. While it's not something that I love about the aging process, it's happening and I've chosen to embrace it rather than try to hide it.° I am now closer to 50 than 40, so it makes sense that my hair is giving away my age. What story does my hair tell? It says that I've made it nearly a half century on this earth, that I've raised two kids and am now helping them through college, it might sometimes say "yeah, I've just been out in the barn, or running, or doing yoga." In a portrait, my hair might say that I still have my health, that I'm a little older than I feel, and that I still care about my appearance.

As a portrait photographer, it is my job to be keenly aware of your story and how you wish to tell it. So, I might ask, is there any part of your body you are uncomfortable showing in a portrait? Because, while I might think the parts that tell a story are beautiful, you may not.

So the question is posed: What is your story and do you want to tell it?

°I reserve the right to change my mind on this stance without further notice ;)
